Travel

Fiumicino International Airport - Rome (FCO): 2 hour drive to La Pescaia. This option is recommended as there will be the most flight options and easiest to travel via train or car.

Flying to Italy

Florence Airport - Florence (FLR): 1 hour and 50 min drive to La Pescaia.

Pisa International Airport - Pisa (PSA): 1 hour and 30 min drive to La Pescaia.

Getting To Tuscany: Rental Car

Tuscany is easily reached by car from Rome, Florence and Pisa airports. Plus, you will have some great views along the way. Renting a car will also allow for more flexibility if you want to do any excursions outside of events. Parking is available at all accommodations. The usual companies are available such as Hertz, Europcar and Avis.

Getting to Tuscany: Train

You can also get to Grosseto by train from Rome or Florence. From Rome this can take between 1.5 to 2 hours and costs an average of 25 eur per ticket. From Florence, this can take 2.5 to 3.5 hours, and costs around 30 eur per ticket.

You will then need to take a taxi from the Grossetto train station to your accommodations (less than 20 min). At Grosseto train station, there is a preferred taxi line just in front of the station.

Public Taxi: Operates on first come, first served basis so wait time may vary. Grosseto Public Taxi Company: (+39) 0564 1833

Private Taxi: To be arranged ahead of time.

—Taxi Grosseto: (+39) 3493290238 or (+39) 3398877493

There are no Ubers/Lyfts!

Getting to Tuscany: Private Driver

If you don't want to rent a car or take the train from the airport, a private driver is a great option. They can pick you up from whatever location in Rome or Florence to your reserved accommodation, and take you back to the airport after the festivities. If you are interested, please reach out to Marianna and Joe and we will ask our planner for recommended services.

We have room blocks at Le Versegge, Tenuta Di Maro, and Casa Terzerie

Accomodations

Reminder: If booking accomodations elsewhere, you must provide your own transportation to and from events as shuttles will only be provided for these three locations

Please reach out to boutique hotels directly through email to book accomodations. Provide the dates, our names (Kopp/Babar party), and how many nights you are staying. Once you reach out, you will be sent a private payment link to book.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am an immediate family member or member of the bridal party. When is check-in/check-out at La Pescaia?

For guests staying at La Pescaia, check-in is at 3pm on Friday the 19th and checkout is from 8am-10am on Monday the 22nd.

  • Are there Ubers in Tuscany?

Nope! You will be in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, away from the hussle and bussle of the big cities, meaning no Ubers. With that, you will need to book your ground transportation to and from the Tuscan region, from the airport, in advance.

  • Do I need to rent a car?

Although not required, this is HIGHLY recommended. We recommend renting a car to give you the most flexibility along your travels, especially if you are planning to visit any other town within Tuscany on your trip. As a reminder, we will be in rural Tuscany, so if you do not have a car or schedule taxis in advance, you will not be able to get around outside of the transportation provided for wedding events.

  • Will transportation be provided to and from events?

Shuttles will be provided to the welcome dinner, wedding, and pool party. If you book a hotel outside of our recommended hotels, you will be responsible for your own transportation to each wedding event.

  • What days should I book my hotel for?

We recommend arriving to your hotel the early afternoon of Friday, September 19th and leaving the morning of Monday, September 22nd (if you are staying for the pool party). Before/after, we recommend exploring other parts of Tuscany, Florence, Rome… or anywhere your heart desires! (NOTE: If you are an immediate family member or member of the bridal party, La Pescaia check-in is at 3pm on the 19th and check-out is at 8am-10am on the 22nd)

  • When should I book my flight?

We recommend booking your flight at least 3 months in advance. Do not forget to renew your passport if needed :)

  • What is your recommended itinerary for a short trip?

Itinerary (4-5 day trip): - Fly into Rome/Florence and spend 1 day and night, 3 nights in Tuscany for wedding celebrations (Friday - Monday), and fly home Monday out of Rome/Florence.

  • Where can we eat outside of wedding events?

We will be serving dinner on Friday, dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday as part of the wedding events. Hotels may include breakfast in your room reservations. Please see the "Things to Do" tab for additional restaurant recommendations in the area. If you plan to visit any of the towns/beach towns, there will be several restaurants there as well.

  • Are there any nearby grocery stores or pharmacies?

Yes! 1. Coop Grocery: 47 Via Grossetana, Sticciano Scalo, Toscana 58036 (2 mins from venue) 2. Conrad Grocery: 9 Viale Senegal, Grosseto, Toscana 58100 (15 mins from venue) 3. Braccagni Pharmacy: Braccagni, Grosseto 58100, Italy (7 mins from venue)

  • Do I need a travel adapter?

You will need an Italian travel adapter for phone/laptop/etc. Please note that most US hairdryers/styling tools are too strong for Italian outlets, most hotels will provide hairdryers if needed. We would suggest checking with them beforehand. For styling tools, only dual voltage styling tools or those designed to handle 230 volts (with the correct adapter) will work in Italy. We would recommend either purchasing a converter or a dual voltage travel hair straightener/curler if you plan to use any styling tools.

  • Are kids welcome?

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only affair.
